Bitcoin Community Innovation: Project Updates

The October, 2025 session featured presentations on three innovative projects aimed at improving Bitcoin infrastructure, transparency, and accessibility: Nodegaze, Bitsacco, and Minmo.

1. Nodegaze: Lightning Node Observability (Presented by Rita)

Rita introduced Nodegaze, a tool designed for Lightning Node Observability.

• Purpose: Nodegaze helps node operators monitor the health and activity of their Lightning Network node.
• Demonstration: Rita ran a live demonstration, connecting her test node (on Polar) to Nodegaze and setting up real-time Discord notifications. She then triggered test events, which were instantly delivered to the configured Discord server, showcasing its quick alerting capability.

2. Bitsacco: Transparent Community Finance (Presented by Jodom)

Jodom presented Bitsacco, a platform focused on community banking and collaboration, drawing inspiration from the Sacco model popular in Kenya.

• Core Goal: To leverage Bitcoin technology to enhance the transparency and accountability of cooperative finance administrators and operations.

3. Minmo: Decentralized P2P Aggregator (Presented by Jodom)

Jodom also introduced Minmo, a platform designed to facilitate peer-to-peer Bitcoin exchange:

• Function: Minmo acts as a decentralized aggregator, connecting individuals who offer on-ramping and off-ramping services for Bitcoin using the Lightning Network.

The session concluded with a Q&A segment that provided clarity on how these platforms contribute to improving the overall Bitcoin infrastructure and ecosystem.
